ALEXANDRA PARTRIDGE
Alexandra “Aly” Partridge is a New Zealand-born cellist whose dynamic and versatile career has taken her across Australasia and internationally. A highly sought-after performer, she has appeared with many of the region’s leading ensembles, including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Equally at home in orchestral, chamber, and contemporary settings, Aly has built a reputation for her musical adaptability and collaborative spirit, performing alongside world-renowned artists such as Jacob Collier, Katy Perry, Neil Finn, Michael Bublé, and Hugh Jackman.
After completing a Master of Music at the New Zealand School of Music under Inbal Megiddo and undertaking three years of advanced study at the Australian National Academy of Music with Howard Penny, Aly was awarded a cello position with Japan’s Hyogo Performing Arts Orchestra. Since returning to Melbourne, she has established a thriving freelance career, touring with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and performing with leading orchestras throughout Australia and New Zealand. Recent highlights include Hugh Jackman’s Australian tour and performances in major productions such as Hamilton, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, and Cinderella, reflecting her passion for collaboration and her wide-ranging artistry across genres and stages.
