LIZ YOUNG
Liz Young is a violinist, fiddler, entertainer, and educator known for bringing creativity, energy, and genuine connection to every performance. Equally at home performing a soulful tango, leading a dance floor in the Nutbush, headbanging to rock anthems, or soaring through the air as a flying violinist, Liz has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most versatile and engaging performers. A dynamic musician across pop, rock, tango, folk, country, and classical genres, she has toured internationally with the Deep Blue Orchestra, reaching the finals of Australia’s Got Talent, and continues to perform with acclaimed projects including The Smashing Bumpkins, Mendoza Tango Quartet, Diez Cuerdas, and Luminescence. As one of the world’s few flying and stilt-walking violinists, Liz is constantly pushing creative boundaries alongside her beloved violins, affectionately known as Mr Violin and Elektrina.
Alongside her performing career, Liz is passionate about inspiring audiences of all ages through music. She is the creator of LizzieLand, an interactive children’s show developed during the 2020 lockdowns that has since become a favourite at festivals, community events, and birthday celebrations. Recent career highlights include appearances at the Woodford Folk Festival, National Folk Festival, and Tamworth Country Music Festival, where she was honoured with a Golden Fiddle Award. With formal training from the University of Queensland under renowned teachers Spiros Rantos and Patricia Pollett, Liz combines technical excellence with warmth, humour, and a deep love of audience engagement, creating memorable experiences wherever she performs.
