NILS HOBIGER

Nils Hobiger is a Queensland-born cellist whose musical training reflects a strong commitment to performance excellence. He was awarded his Performer’s Certificate from Trinity College London in 2006, followed by the AMEB Associate Diploma of Music in 2007. Nils later completed a Bachelor of Music in 2012 and a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in 2013 while holding an orchestral scholarship. Continuing his professional development, he completed the Professional Performance Program at the Australian National Academy of Music in 2016 before joining the Sydney Symphony Orchestral Fellowship Program in 2017.

Now based in Melbourne, Nils enjoys a diverse freelance career that spans orchestral, chamber, and contemporary music performance. Alongside his ongoing passion for folk music and improvisation, he performs regularly with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Eclective Strings, and Victorian Opera. His versatility as a musician and dedication to collaborative performance have established him as a valued contributor to Australia’s vibrant musical landscape.
