RICHARD PAVLIDIS

Melbourne-based saxophonist, composer, teacher, and multi-instrumentalist Richard Pavlidis is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts. He has toured extensively across Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, performing at major festivals including Splendour in the Grass, The Manly Jazz Festival, and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Richard’s debut solo album, Without Within (2019), received widespread acclaim, earning a spot in the Australian Jazz Real Book and praise from saxophone legend Kenny G.

Following this, Richard released Origins in 2020, featuring some of Australia’s top jazz musicians. During the 2021 Australian COVID lockdown, he launched Lockdown Sessions, a global collaborative album of jazz standards recorded with artists from Germany, Israel, the USA, and across Australia. His innovative work continues to push jazz boundaries and captivate audiences worldwide.
