MISS RENEE SIMONE
Miss Renee Simone is a British-born, Byron Bay–based soul singer, DJ and storyteller, known for her intoxicating performances and unique sound that blends soul, jazz, reggae, and RnB. Of Jamaican heritage, she built her early sound on the music of Motown and the voices of Lauryn Hill, Janet Jackson and Sade. After moving to Australia via New Zealand, she rose to national attention as the frontwoman of Blackbirds, semi-finalists on Australia’s Got Talent, and later through her critically acclaimed solo album ROAR, which received Album of the Week on ABC Radio National and Eastside Radio.
Miss Renee Simone has performed at top festivals including Bluesfest, Splendour in the Grass and Adelaide Fringe, and has opened for artists such as Lionel Richie, Morcheeba and Bernard Fanning. She’s recorded with some of Australia’s biggest names, and her soulful stage presence has captivated audiences in iconic venues around the country. Now also director of a Byron Bay entertainment company, MRS continues to be a creative force in live music and storytelling performance.
