MATT BOYLAN-SMITH

A natural storyteller, Matt Boylan-Smith left his hometown of Bathurst to travel the world, writing songs that reflect his journey and experiences. His powerful and heartfelt performances have taken him across Europe and South America, with critics praising his intensity: “Boylan-Smith sings every song as though it is his last – full of feeling and with full commitment” (Von Haus Clock, Germany). Along the way, he has reached the finals of the Bluesfest Busking Competition, earned national radio play on Triple J and ABC, and performed pre-match entertainment for the NRL. His music has also been recognised on screen, with his film clip for Johnny winning at the Madrid International Film Festival, and his track 16 Miles Wide gaining rotation on the Country Music Channel in Australia and the US.

Matt’s collaborations and recordings continue to expand his global footprint, from working with Finnish artists Alora & Senii on the viral hit Down by the Ocean (over 3 million streams, Spotify Top 30 in Germany and Finland), to recording with acclaimed producers Lon LeMaster (Toto, Don Henley), Beau Hill (Alice Cooper), and Dan Frizza. His most recent release Somewhere in Soho earned national airplay and marks another step in his evolution as an artist, combining raw storytelling with polished musicianship. With a growing international audience and a full-length album in the works, Matt Boylan-Smith continues to cement his reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling singer-songwriters.
