A 30ft dress train, a grand piano and a pop-up wedding… It doesn’t get much grander than the Grand Room and Bromley Gallery opening soiree.
The launch of Melbourne’s hottest new event-canvas, nestled in the luxurious Capitol Grand in South Yarra, had to be extra with a capital E! So, naturally LK Hospitality and Reymond Communications, got the dream-team back together - and Beck was asked to have and to hold.
Guests entered the building and their jaws dropped. Their eyes met Katie, dressed in an angelic gown which cascaded all the way down the stairs, as she tinkled a beautiful black grand piano.
The vision in white was a custom design by the wonderful, Miss Joelie. Little did partygoers know it was a nod to a rather heart warming surprise later in the night (we love a good ‘Agh’ moment).
Guests were met by the dinner party dreams are made of. A group of glamorously dressed beauties led by the fabulous Mike Snell, weren’t afraid to dance on the tables and pull guests up to join them! Hosts were styled in sequins, feathers, and suave tuxes - paired with dark theatrical eyes and bold hair that was out of this era.
Ladies and gentlemen were treated to a feast fit for royalty with caviar bumps, oysters on ice and free flowing French champagne. They’d died and gone to foodie heaven with food stations that showcased the event space entrancingly. The culinary delights set guests’ tastebuds alight, with desserts that impressed the sweet tooths and frozen margaritas that were worth the brain freeze!
The fabulous Tanzer, who takes inspiration from David Bowie, drag queens and punk rock bands, got guests in the mood for love, spinning dance-floor bangers as
the energy lifted.
As Tanzer moved to the mic, and took complete control of the room, a large floral installation was hoisted to the roof, to reveal a stunning black and green four-tiered wedding cake.
Just in time for our lucky couple to tie the knot! Well, not really, unlike Vegas, what happens at The Grand Room, stays in the Grand Room. Beck invited a very special bride and groom to have their first dance. But this wasn’t your Grandma’s waltz.. sexy moves got guests hot under the collar and ready to get their party on!
So, next time you’ve got an event to plan.. say I DO to Beck and get ready for a lifetime of happiness. XX
